Officers All
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ!
As an officer, you may have to choose between keeping your commission and earning a Green Beret. Some branches cannot transition to the Army National Guard. Some branches require pre-determination which takes 9-12 months. If you are not eligible, or if the pre-determination process pushes your Special Forces timeline too far, resigning your commission and enlisting in the Texas Army National Guard is your only option.
Army: All branches accepted without pre-determination.
Airforce: Security Forces, EOD, and specific SOF are eligible with pre-determination. All other branches are not eligible.
Marines: All branches are eligible. Branches with no direct MOS-correlation as defined by Army policy require pre-determination.
Navy: NSW officers are eligible. Pre-determination may be required. All other branches are not eligible.
All branches for components not listed above are ineligible.
If you are ineligible (or eligible but pre-determination requirement eliminates SF as an option) and willing to resign your commission, review the enlisted options above that apply to you. If you are eligible, review the officer options below that apply to you.
