If you served honorably in the U.S. armed forces for at least one year, you could be eligible to apply for naturalization under special provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

Service in the Army National Guard may provide eligible legal permanent residents with an expedited path to U.S. citizenship through military service. To qualify, you must meet all educational, medical, legal, and enlistment requirements.

FAMILY PATH TO RESIDENCY

Are you a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident? Your service in the Army National Guard may help put your eligible immediate family to legal residency.

ELIGIBLE IMMEDIATE FAMILY

PAROLE IN PLACE

Parole-in-Place (PIP) is a form of temporary admission under U.S. immigration law that allows certain non-citizens already in the United States to be granted lawful status for a limited period. Parole-in-Place is on a case-by-case basis with eligibility determined by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This applies to the family of the Soldier.

DEFERRED ACTION

If you are not eligible for Parole in Place you may qualify for Deferred Action.

Deferred Action is a form of prosecutorial discretion to defer removal action (deportation) against an individual for a certain period of time if granted by USCIS.

  • Exención de ciertas tarifas de inmigración (cuando aplique).

  • Requisitos de tiempo de residencia más flexibles.

  • Oportunidad de solicitar la ciudadanía antes que por la vía tradicional, si cumples con los requisitos establecidos.

Existe la oportunidad de solicitar la ciudadanía de manera anticipada en comparación con la vía tradicional, siempre que se cumpla con los requisitos establecidos. Para ser elegible, se deben de cumplir con los estándares médicos, físicos, educativos y legales requeridos para servir en la Guardia Nacional.

PARA TU FAMILIA

Sabemos que los procesos migratorios pueden ser difíciles para muchas familias. Dependiendo de tu situación, algunos familiares inmediatos de miembros de la Guardia Nacional de Illinois podrían ser elegibles para programas migratorios como Military Parole in Place (MIL PIP), el cual puede ofrecer protección temporal y facilitar ciertos procesos migratorios dentro de los Estados Unidos. Este programa es administrado por el Servicio de Ciudadanía e Inmigración de los Estados Unidos (USCIS) y la elegibilidad se determina de manera individual. En algunos casos, el cónyuge, padres o hijos de un miembro de la Guardia Nacional podrían calificar.
