She explains on how others can prepare for Officer Candidate School.

  • Recommends others to work on their run pace to be under 9 minutes prior to coming to the course.

  • Work on upper body strength due to all the demanding activities during OCS.

Basic requirements.

  • Be a U.S. citizen 

  • Commission up to 41* years old depending on program option

  • Be eligible for a secret security clearance

  • Start OCS with 90 college credits towards a bachelor's degree

Choose Your Path

State OCS

  • Where: Your state's Regional Training Institute (RTI)
  • When: Weekends only— one weekend a month for 16 to 18 months, plus two two-week periods

NGB Accelerated OCS

  • Where: School locations vary by season and state
  • When: Eight weeks straight, seven days a week, winter or summer session

Federal OCS

  • Where: Fort Moore, GA
  • When: 14 weeks, with courses offered year-round

GT score of 110 or higher.

09S for Non-prior service

90 college credits or more.

Must be on track to complete your bachelor's degree plan before commissioning.
